Montblanc Writers Edition Bram Stoker Fountain Pen
In honour of Bram Stoker and his classic tale of horror, Montblanc has created the Writers Edition Bram Stoker Fountain Pen. The ill-omened atmosphere of his famous novel Dracula is captured in the red and black precious resin cap and barrel. The decorative elements resemble those of a classic Victorian writing instrument, much like the one which Bram Stoker would have used to pen his works. The shape of this writing instrument is a nod to a milestone in medical technology, the Pravaz syringe, which was operated by a screw mechanism, and which is included as a not to the then-cutting edge technology of blood transfusions which play a pivotal role in the novel. The handcrafted, ruthenium-coated solid Au 750 gold nib showcases Bram Stoker's family coat of arms. The vampire’s ‘bite marks’ are suggested by two marks on the clip ring, while the clip, in turn, harkens back to a writing instrument from one of Montblanc’s earliest collections. While the author did not live to experience the worldwide fame of his iconic Count, he alone deserves the honour of the Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker. His signature is engraved on the side of the cap and filled with lacquer.
