Midori Etching Clips

Midori is a Japanese company that has been providing high quality stationary and office supplies for over 70 years, since their founding in 1950. Midori means “green” in Japanese and was chosen as the company name to represent the strength of a plant spreading its green leaves in a field.

In 1961 Midori produced the first pocket-sized notebook in Japan. Then in 1970 they created revolutionary decorative stickers with designs printed on both the sticky and non-sticky sides, perfect for use on shop windows and automatic doors, which were just becoming popular. Next they released the first coloured message cardboard on the Japanese market, creating a new cultural phenomenon by turning shikishi—an item that had previously been used for autographs—into a medium for writing heartfelt messages from groups of friends, families and colleagues. They continue to innovate today, with a long and continuing list of innovative inventions and developments of their products.
