The Ashmolean first opened in 1683 and is one of the oldest museums in the world. Conway Stewart are launching a number of pens to celebrate this wonderful museum in the University of Oxford, each with a theme taken from a collection. A proportion of each pen sold is given to the Museum to help with their running costs.

The theme of this first pen in the series is John Ruskin, (8 February, 1819–20 January, 1900) who was the leading English art critic of the Victorian era, as well as an art patron, philosopher, prominent social thinker and philanthropist. He also has a unique association with the University of Oxford.

"The John Ruskin Pen" is engraved into the body of the barrel, and one of his most famous sketches of a Lion's Head is engraved on the top of the cap. The pen is made in Oxford Blue acrylic and complimented with 9ct gold.
